Dr. Jeanette Sams, track veterinarian, performing a saliva test on a horse in 1952. She graduated from Cornell and served as track veterinarian at Fairgrounds Speedway in Louisville for four years. Dr. Sams was the first woman to be a track veterinarian at the Lexington Trots.

Feb 10th , our dear family friend Jeanette SAMs passed away in her sleep at nap time, in her home in Deland FL. She was very independent and still walked the mall 2-3 times per week. An awesome lady, friend and great vet. Feb 10th, 2018. She will be at her final resting place in Hillsboro, Ohio. The Ross family
Jeanette was my first cousin once removed. We corresponded at holidays, but I did not know what happened to her after the cards stopped coming. Thanks to the Ross family for looking after her.
